These cabbage rolls are loaded with ground beef and rice filling, wrapped up in a boiled cabbage leaf, and then baked in the oven with flavor packed tomato sauce.

Ground beef mixture

1 pound ground beef

1 cup white rice

1/2 sweet onion

1 clove garlic

1 egg

1 teaspoon salt

1/2 teaspoon pepper

3 teaspoons parsley

Tomato sauce

15 ounce can tomato sauce

15 ounce can crushed tomatoes

1 teaspoon sugar

1 sweet onion (diced)

Cabbage rolls

Step 1

Cut and remove about one inch from the bottom of the head of cabbage.

Step 2

Bring a large pot of water to a boil. Once boiling, place the entire head of cabbage into the pot of boiling water for four to five minutes or until leaves are tender.

Step 3

Remove the cabbage from the water and peel back the leaves. Be careful; it will be hot.

Step 4

Once you have your filling ingredients mixed together, place one cabbage leaf on a cutting board. Stuff leaf with mixture and roll tight.

Step 5

Place cabbage rolls into tomato sauce and bake for 60 to 75 minutes at 350 degrees.
